The objective of this project is to design a “RFID based access control system”. The sole aim of this project is to avoid the entry of any unwanted/burglar person to some restricted area along with the study of RFID and its use in this type of application.
In this project, a RFID card reader will read the RFID cards of the car drivers and using the concept of serial communication, it will send the RFID card number to the microcontroller. Previously some of the card numbers (which are having the access to that region) will be stored in the memory of the microcontroller. If the card number sent by the RFID reader matches with the id-number stored in microcontroller, then the gate will open automatically.
Also, familiarization this circuit would enable you understand better the simple RFID based communication gadget discussed in this subsequent project. It becomes still more interesting for our community of electronics enthusiasts as rfid source is available very cheap in the market and the typical power level available for concept learning and demonstration purpose if not for actual field use.
